Rev. Karen Hernandez serves as the District Superintendent for the Sage District, which runs for 500 miles from Eastern Oregon through Southeast Idaho. A district is a smaller unit of an Annual Conference, and Rev. Hernandez serves as a “pastor of pastors.” She is passionate about anti-racism work and high desert topography.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth, elected in 2022, is the Resident Bishop of the Greater Northwest Episcopal Area in the Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church. The area encompasses the Alaska, Oregon-Idaho, and Pacific Northwest Conferences. Bishop Bridgeforth has challenged all congregations and pastors under his care to walk the M.I.L.E — engaging in Ministry that Matters, Itineration, Lay Ministry Enhancement, and the Elimination of Racism.
